One Child Campaign - Orphan Awareness Video

Wednesday, June 1st

We spent another morning with Hux and picked up our updated home study that needs to be notarized. For that, I (Caleb) will need to go to the US embassy on the other side of the city to get notarized. Sounds simple enough, but it was a 3-hour process in all and $50 to get it done. Whatever it takes! I dropped the paperwork off with our agency to get certified and they will turn it into MOWYCA (The Ministry of Women, Youth and Children's Affairs) this week.

Today, we noticed that Hux had some odd dots all over him…turns out it's the beginning of chicken pox. Many of the children at the TH seem to have gotten it lately. He didn't seem to be too uncomfortable but we took him to the on site doctor to make sure he was taken care of.

This evening, I got ready for my next 2 days in the south with one of our ministry contacts and partners. Shone and Awassa were our destinations and part of this trip is to meet Huxley's (Sintayehu) birth mother. Nervous and excited. Becca and Sakari are staying in Addis to check in with Hux each day.

  1. Poor guy! I remember being so uncomfortable when I had chicken pox. I can't imagine being so small and having to deal with that. We'll be praying that he handles it well and gets over it quickly.
