Today, we went grocery shopping in the morning and then after naps, had the amazing opportunity to reunite Sakari with her nanny from when she was a baby. Nanny Elsa LOVED Sakari so well and cried intensely when she had to let her go. I've had the chance to see her on one of my many trips here and bring her pictures, but we always promised to bring her back too. We were invited to her home and we got to spend a couple hours with her family over a meal and coffee ceremony. It was so incredible to see that their bond and connection was still so strong! Even her kids and husband had been waiting to see Sakari! Another nanny, Deserset, was there and she brought pictures of many kids from the same adoption era. We saw pics of our travel group's babies and other families that we are close to. It was indescribable. We plan to see them again before we leave.
We spent the evening with another amazing family and now dear friends – the Gross family. Their ministry is called No Greater Love Ministries and our teams have connected deeply with their hearts and passion. They live and serve here in Ethiopia full time and got to visit Hux 4 or 5 times before we could come to see him. They are also now in the process to adopt from Ethiopia. We are so thankful for them! We had a blast (hahaha, Jimmy – stop laughing) with them and can't wait to hang out again.
