WAITING…
…and waiting and waiting. This seems to be our current stage in our adoption. Now, this doesn’t mean waiting in the sense of sitting around doing nothing. It’s more like one would wait on tables – busy with doing, cleaning, planning, living, preparing, etc. We’re definitely not living boring lives. We have decided to treasure every minute that we have with Sakari with her being an only child for as long as we can, as we also do our best to prepare her and ourselves for the addition of two more. We have been setting up a new bed for Lucy in Sakari’s room, adding special touches for her. We have set up the crib and are working on a Curious George theme for Hux. This helps keep our minds off of the fact that we have not received our referrals, but for those of you who have walked this road, you know that feeling that you’re in the “ninth month”. This is where we are right now. We have also had fun putting up all our Christmas stuff and had a good friend, Jen, swing by and hang out with us for a day. Enjoy our recent pics...post continued below the pictures...

COUNTING DOWN THE MILES…
As we prepare, we also know that we have the financial aspect to continue working on to bring them home. We are in the home stretch and to make this manageable for us to wrap our minds around and communicate to our friends, family and supporters – Becca broke this down into a mileage format, so that we could share it and ask our friends and family to pray about sponsoring miles ($1/mile) to bring them home. Interestingly enough, the amount we need to raise is almost exactly how many miles we will travel to Ethiopia and back to pick them up. With the changes in the Ethiopian government’s procedures, the costs increased as families now either have to travel twice or stay in Ethiopia several weeks to wait for finalized paperwork. Our decision is to stay in Ethiopia to host One Child Campaign teams (you can join a team!) and be with our kids to bond and serve together. It actually ends up being less costly than if we travel twice.
We also have some fun things to give away – but here’s what this looks like broken down:
16,312 miles to bring our kids home
$15=15 miles need 1087 people
$50=50 miles need 326 people
$100=100 miles need 163 people
So, here we are waiting and counting down the miles…grateful for you and trusting God every step of the way!
